Mordheim: Battle report Witch hunter vs. Skaven

Hello somebody wanted a battle report about our game. So I decided to do one about our last game. I don't usually write these and  forget to do good notes during the battle. Anyway enjoy the report.

Reach of Darkness, Act I

Hello to all Mordheim dwellers. I have seen some evil thinks in Mordheim. Many good lads have died in dark streets of Mordheim. Well I have now a good story to tell you. I will tell it about eyes of my witch hunter warband. They have been very unfortunate by this far. They have lost many good warriors.

Luckily they have fearless leader who is ready to sacrifice just a two more men to gain some greater good.

So let's begin.

WARBANDS

Witch Hunter warband called Swords of Damnation had seven men and one dog. They had help of an elf ranger called Scar Julo. Their leader is called Dante Ala Riste. You may have heard about him? No? 

Well they were very happy to find tree wyrdstones and were heading to get out of the damned city. Before they did get out from there they were confronted by a skaven clan Pestilence. Eight hideous skaven two big rats and a one huge Rat Ogre. I heard they were called children of decay later on but that's a another story.

DEPLOYMENT

Witch Hunter captain spotted the Skaven warband before they managed to ambush the poor witch hunters. It was a Change encounter. 

Skaven managed to sprint on the streets and their leader was screaming some commands from the upper ruined houses. 

Ala Riste was planning an ambush and Victor climbed high as possible with his deadly cross bow. Elf took ambush place from ruined jail balcony. Other took cover from houses expect Zealot Pietari the Puppet maker. He run in middle of street and managed to get skaven interesting about him. Yes skaven were very interested about hiom... But what happened to him I will tell later. 

Witch hunters is the blue arrow and Skaven is the red arrow.
Scenario is called Chance Encounter from Mordheim Rulebook. 

FIRST FEW ROUNDS

Skaven started to run towards the Witch hunters position. Skaven  are very fast runners and Pietari was in hurry to clime in the nearest building to get safety. Witch hunter Victor and Elf Ranger took shots against skaven only managed to stun one of them.

Next the skaven started running still towards the Witch hunters but the sneaky witch hunter captain was moving to flank some skaven. I can tell the arrows are useless against  the huge rat ogre. 

NEXT ROUNDS WITH THE FLANK

Ala Riste, Priest Forstgrave and Witch Hunter called "The Tilean" was flanking the skaven. Lads took cover from ruins. Poor priest was not managed to say any of the prayers in whole battle. 

Three skaven and one giant rat run towards the hiding with hunters. "The tilean" took a shot with hand crossbow and missed the fast rat. They were engaged in hand to hand. 

Ala Riste took aim agains the closing skaven and his pistol sayed KA-BOOM and hit with the massive strength on skaven and ricochet with the another. They both stunned and it was very easy to finish them off.

IN THE OTHER SIDE

Skaven, Giant rat and the Ogre was running fast towards zealot Pietari. Flagellant Hans with flail, witch hunter Mad Morgan with double handed sword was hiding to ambush them and of course the Elf with the fine elf bow and Victor with the crossbow was waiting to shoot the runners. 

Pietari was put fast out of action. Mad Morgan and Hans was ready to fight against the others. Soon both were slain in to the ground fast. Crossbow man and elf could do nothing with their weapons. 

The Rat ogre attacked the elf. Elf managed to hold one round just being knocked down.

BOTH WARBANDS ON ROUTE

Both warbands losed enough warriors to take some rout test. Skaven managed to keep their nerves one more round. Poor Elf was taken out of action because of that. Witch hunter Captain had to yell commands to keep them nerves also. They did keep the nerves one more round. Victor shot one more bolt from crossbow to stun one more skaven. Maybe that was enough because the skaven routet after that and the Witch Hunters were victorious.

WHAT HAPPENED THEN

The Witch hunters managed to loose one wyrdstone what they were carrying in the beginning. They managed to find three more and a well after that. Witch Hunters captain could not resist to get the wyrdstone from the well bottom and jumped in to the polluted well. Six wyrdstone from one battle is a great cache but what costs? Three heroes out of action, one hencmen and a hired sword. Five men  down. For Ala Riste it was nothing. He lost more men than that already.

Witch Hunter "The Tilean" gained full recovery, Hans gained horrible scars and Mad Morgan with already broken leg managed to survive against the odds. Elf and the zealot survived also. 

Ala Riste knew that his luck was changed and it was time to adventure deeper in to the city of Damned.

Well what about the skaven then? I heard they runned away as fast as they emerged from the alleys. Some of them were killed even. If you like to know more about them... Don't ask it from me. 

Back in painting.

Well my summer have been very long and now I'm back to my painting hobby. I have finished my fifth Necromunda model. Well I have painted full gang of models but these five have been my new years promise to paint five original Necromunda models.

Last model is another Plague zombie. I painted zombie clothes like orange convict outfit. See the picture below.

These promised five Necromunda models are Pit fighter, Bounty hunter, Escher Juve, and two plague zombies. See picture below.

I have promised to paint five Mordheim models as well.. So there is going to be three more Mordheim models to showed.

I'm very fond to these FFG's Star Wars models so I pet there is coming some Star wars also.

The Flagellant!

Here is some more Mordheim. I have painted original Witch Hunter warband for Mordheim. Unfortunately I'm not happy anymore for the first models what I have painted years ago. My painting skill is far more better now and maybe I have to do some repainting some day.  Before that I will paint the rest of the Witch hunter models. So here is the first Flagellant to the warband. I currently have two more miniatures to paint for witch hunters and missing one hunter model to complete them all. I currently have two captains. (one unpainted.) Three hunters (missing the fourth), Three zealots, Two warhounds and two Flagellants (one unpainted). For a bonus I have punch of models to convert more minis for warband.

I also promised to paint five Mordheim models in this year. This is the second so there is still coming three more painted Mordheim minis this year.

Warlock! The Hired Sword at your service!

I decided to paint some more Mordheim miniatures. This one is my favorite. The Warlock!

Warlock in Mordheim are very  Unpredictable. One died casting fire ball. Another one fell from roof after flying there. Well anyway warlock are fun to play in Mordheim! And next time I play my warband will include this my newest painted warlock.

I have introduced my self some weathering tactics as well. Here is the pics! Sorry about the poor lightning.

I painted dead skaven too. It is also from GW Mordheim range.

More Mercs for Necromunda! "Gunnar"

More mercs for Necromunda. My second mercenary for Guilder gang is "Gunnar" the merc.

Gunnar is armed with rusty autogun with under slung hand flamer. For close combat he has his sword and some frag grenades. 

Gunnar is EX-Necromunda Special Forces Enforcers group and his number first choice of skills are from strength list. 

Gunnars trade mark is hes red Vencorse all star shoes.

Tervehdys pitkästä aikaa. Olen joutunut panostamaan vapaa aikani pienoismallien maalailuun, joten bloggaaminen on jäänyt vähemmälle. Olenkin puuhastellut erääseen maalauskisaan kääpiöitä ja en ole niitä kuvia julkaissut ennen. Laitan nyt siis kisatyöni esittelyyn. Figut seikkailevat myös pelikentillä.

Dwarfs!

Sillä aikaa, kun rakentelin Mordheimia uudestaan pöydälleni ilmestyi salakavalasti kääpiöiden sotajoukko.

Aatelinen, kaksi peikonsurmaa, insinööri ja juoppo kääpiöklaanilainen. Hmm... Minne ne mahtaa olla matkalla.

Mordheimissa voi palkata ns. kokeneita sotureita joita kutsutaan dramaattisiksi persooniksi eli

Dramatis personae latinaksi. He ovat arvokkaita, kokeneita ja tekevät yleensä selvää vastustajista. Omissa peleissä kyseisiä hahmoja ei ole näkynyt, koska ne ovat pelissä kalliita tai muuten vaikeita saada omaan joukkoon. 

Ylpeänä voinkin esittää oman versioni "Sister of Sigmareiden" dramaattisesta hahmosta jonka kuvaataan vaalea hiuksiseksi, sinisilmäiseksi joden katse jäädyttää hiidenkin 20 askeleen päästä ja kiven kovista raajoista, joita peittää hieno panssari.  

Olen mielestäni onnistunut päihittämään alkuperäisen maalauksen, jonka GW:n on tehnyt figuuristaan.

Valmiskivetys pienoismallimarketista Osa: 2 maalaus

Noniin nyt se on maalattu. Eli valmis pintakivetys maaleissa. En voinut ottaa kuvaa keskeneräisestä figuurista joten maalasin sen myös.

Pohjan maalaus eteni niin, että musta pohjamaali alle. Tumman harmaa pintamaali ja päälle tumma wash. Viimeistely kuivaharjauksella kolmella eri harmaan sävyllä. Tein myös pieniä nokareita mutaa alustalle, koska se  olis muutoin ollut liian yksitoikkoinen.

Olen pitkään halunnut tehdä diodraaman Mordheimin kadusta, jossa Skaven ottaa yhteen ihmisen kanssa. Nyt voisin jopa harkita tekeväni sen kadun tällä kuvoinnilla. Kivetystä löytyy myös monta muuta eri mallia, joten varmasti löytyy sopiva kuvointi omiin projekteihin.

Mutta asiaan... Kuvat kertovat yleensä enemmän.

Maalaus: Skaven Sorceror

Maalailin iltojeni ratoksi yhden iloisen rottaihmisen. Ensimmäinen metallinen Mordheimin Skaven figuuri, jonka maalasin. Figuurin maalaus tuntui alkuksi väkipakolta, mutta kun sain maalaukseen alkuun oli pakko maalata figuuri loppuun mahdollisimman pian.

23 päivää kääpiötä

23 päivää kesti maalata kääpiö. Tällä tahdilla ei kehitystä pääse tapahtumaan. Olen kuitenkin kokeillut uusia maalaustekniikoita. Kuten helmet parrassa ja kirveen metalli. Malli on GW:n lipunkantaja jonka lippukäteen on muokattu vasara lipun tilalle.

-Helmet maalasin vain tummalla vihreällä ja laitoin hiukan vaaleampaa alas. Lopuksi pieni valkoinen piste yläreunaan.

-Kirveen olen maalannut tummalla metallilla ja tummalla "washilla". Korostus on tapahtunut pelkästään vaalealla metallilla.

-Parta on tummaa punaista ja kärjet ovat korostettu lopuksi oranssilla.

-Housut ovat Obelixmaisesti sinivalkoraitaiset.

-Alusta on pientä kivetystä, kuraa ja muutama hassu tupsu palanutta ruohoa.

Kuvat kertovat enemmän ja kommentit ovat aina tervetulleita. Palautetta saa siis antaa tai ei tässä muuten opi lisää asioita.

Seuraava maalausprojekti on taas kohta työn alla. Sitä en vaan osaa sanoa, että mikä figuuri saa itsensä maaleihin.

Sekaiset kääpiöt

Maalaustyö on ollut jäähyllä melkein kuukauden. Työpöydälle on jäänyt lauma kääpiöitä kirmaamaan eri suuntiin. Näistä töppöjaloista oli tarkoitus tulla Mordheimiin sotajoukkio. Tuntuu, että tuo edellinen maalauskilpailu johon osallistuin vei motivaation maalata. Typerät kääpiöt tuntuvat nauravan vain työpöydälläni... ehkä maalaan ne kiusaksi kaikki smurffeiksi. Saa nähdä mitä niistä tulee!

Osa kääpiöistä on tehty muovimalleista ja greenstuffista. Toiset ovat ihan valmiita metallisia figuureita, joihin lisäisen tarvittavia varusteita pikaliimalla. Eiköhän nämäkin jonhonkin taisteluun päätyvät!
